I'm pretty sure this means we're the world champs now.
The fresh San Diego spring training crew put together a performance worthy of televising. That's not to say we weren't glad either way that Padres baseball is gracing our eyeballs again.
We got to see a whole fleet of arms and bats today on screen.
Colin Rae started things off hot, Carlos Villanueva did his thing and gave up the night's only run, Ryan Buchter, Blake Smith, Johnny Hellweg, Tayron Guerrero, and Jose Dominguez all threw a healthy inning a piece. It was the best ST game showing thus far. 11 strikeouts for the good guys.
The hitting was hot too. Six hits, three runs, and a patient lineup limiting the K's to only 4. Good lookin' Austin Hedges got the night's first run on an RBI double off, beaming a fastball off Jonathan Dziedzic.
New face Adam Rosales knocked in the go-ahead by dribbling a slider into center field that Peter Moylan tried to sneak by, and to close out the night, scored the night's final run on a wild pitch.
We also got to see Cody Decker with his cinematic prowess and league-leading jawline playing for the bad guys.
Great pitching, good hitting, and we get to hit the Rockies road tomorrow, and get to see our season opener Tyson Ross throw an inning or a couple.
BASEBALL IS REALLY BACK.
