Padres 5, Rockies 5: Ties are boring

MLB: Spring Training-Colorado Rockies at San Diego Padres Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

I'll be honest: This recap is so late because Daredevil season 2 hit on Friday and I've been on Netflix in all my spare time. And, well, yesterday's game ended in a tie and games that don't count are even more worthless when they end in a tie. Ties are for those other, lesser sports.

The most exciting it got was in the bottom of the ninth when the Padres put together a couple singles to get that final, tying run. That was the sad bookend on a game that started with a two-run homer by Jemile Weeks, who is making a serious case for a spot on the Opening Day roster. Starting pitcher Colin Rea did not have the best day, giving up five runs in his five innings. The good news for Rea is that he also had five strikeouts and only gave one free pass.

Today's game starts soon, with Robbie Erlin taking on the stinkin' Dodgers.
