Indians 9, Padres 4: Relievers have a bad day

Tyson Ross wasn't in top form against the Indians today, giving up two runs on four hits in three innings, but he didn't have the worst trip to the mound. That dishonor went to Cesar Vargas, who gave up four runs in the fifth inning. Only two of those were earned, as Travis Jankowski lost a fly ball in the sun that should have been an easy second out.

There were some bright notes offensively, as the Padres still put together four runs on six hits and six walks. Derek Norris and Jemile Weeks both picked up doubles, and Christian Bethancourt legged out a pinch-hit triple. The infield also turned three double plays, and Norris continued to gun down runners when he caught Juan Uribe. Hooray for bright sides, and for spring training games not mattering!

Tomorrow, the boys host the Chicago White Sox. The game will be Televised at 12:10 PM.
