I was following along Game Day and with Jesse Sanchez's tweets about the Winter League Caribbean Series. Newly acquired Padres closer Fernando Rodney was pitching. Padres "officials" were watching from the stands. At one point Rodney fielded a ground ball and threw the ball away. A trainer took the field to talk to Rodney.
The trainer is out on the field chatting with Fernando Rodney. Padres officials are in the stands watching this game. He stays in the game.

Rodney started mowing hitters down with his breaking ball. He struck out the first two batters of the inning. The veteran pitcher used their aggressive to his advantage.
Cuban batters are so aggressive and Fernando Rodney is using it against them with breaking balls. #CaribbeanSeries

As I'm following along I see Sanchez's next tweet. Rodney was escorted out of the game by the trainer.
Fernando Rodney is out of the game. He's being escorted off the mound by the trainer but looks fine in the dugout. Will get info postgame.

We still don't know exactly what happened. It could have been precautionary but it appears to be an injury.
