The Helen Woodward Animal Center once again joined the Padres for Photo Day with a pack of puppies. The idea is two fold, they hope to promote animal adoption and to show off a softer side of players who we only know through their tough hardened exteriors. Twelve puppies made the trip from San Diego to Peoria for the shoot, one for each month of the year. I think this means we can be expecting another Padres and Puppies calendar as a giveaway later in the season. Next year maybe the team will follow Sports Illustrated's lead and introduce plus sized pups and old grizzled dogs too.
I can just imagine Mark Grant asking "Who's a good boy?!"
