About a week and a half ago, the Padres released the part of their 2016 promotional schedule that included the giveaways planed for this coming season. But tonight they announced that they will be releasing the remaining promos, which will include several theme nights at the ballpark. The whole schedule will be revealed tomorrow, but the Padres will be rolling out some of the highlights this evening.
And the first of those highlights will be a return of Star Wars Night at Petco Park. The Padres have been incorporating Star Wars at the ballpark, both officially and unofficially, for years now. The first time I can clearly recall is back in 2009 or 2010 when the rookie bullpen pitchers would carry star wars backpacks. Some players would also use Star Wars bat covers to protect their wood. But in 2015 they really took it to a whole new level when they hosted Star Wars Night during the last homestand of the season, complete with special Star Wars themed t-shirts that were given away to those who purchased tickets in a specific section. I was able to attend that night and I was thoroughly impressed at what the Padres did, so I'm definitely looking forward to a repeat.

We'll add more highlights as they are released by the Padres, but for now feel free to take to the comments and tell us what kinds of #PadresThemeNights YOU would like to see take place at Petco Park this season.
