Tommy Medica is no longer a Padre. He was claimed off waivers by the Marlins just moments ago. I expect he'll be winning the hearts of their fans for a time until he makes creepy appearances in music videos. Then the fan base will likely take a collective step back pretending they've never heard of him.

But seriously, that Medica is a good guy and I think he'll fit in well with the Marlins organization. MLB Trade Rumors thinks he'll find himself a platoon player since he rakes against lefties.

Medica has, however, hit lefties well; in theory, then, he could be part of an affordable platoon situation at first base next year alongside the left-handed-hitting Justin Bour.
