The San Diego Padres' 2015 home slate is coming to a close. Tonight they begin their final home series of the season, a three-game set against the Milwaukee Brewers.
Tyson Ross gets the start in this evening's opener, looking to snag his 11th win. Ross is 3-1 in four career starts against Milwaukee, posting a 3.33 ERA in those games. That includes a win at Miller Park in August of this season. The right-hander went six innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits and two walks while striking out five batters.
Taking the hill opposite the former All-Star will be the latest rookie to join the Brewers' rotation, Jorge Lopez. The 22-year-old righty will make his major league debut against the Padres tonight, hoping to recreate some of the success he saw in the minors this season. Lopez went 12-5 with a 2.26 ERA for the Double-A Biloxi Shuckers and was named Minor League Pitcher of the Year in the Brewers organization.
