The Padres will try to forget the series in San Francisco and get the bad taste out of their mouths by bouncing back in Arizona. Tonight is the start of a three-game set against the Diamondbacks, and the team will have some new blood in the dugout to try to stave off another disappointing series.

Cody Decker, Casey Kelly, Robbie Erlin, and Jay Jackson will join the team at Chase Field, rounding out the 40-man roster for San Diego. Decker and Jackson are getting their first tastes of Major League life while Kelly and Erlin make their returns to The Show.

James Shields will be on the mound in the series opener, hoping for better results than his previous outings in Arizona this season. This will be his third time pitching at Chase Field in 2015. In went 0-1 in his first two tries, but neither appearance was very impressive. He gave up a combined nine runs through 12 innings of work in those starts. Overall he is 2-2 with a 6.38 ERA in four starts against the Dbacks in his career.

Jeremy Hellickson has already faced the Padres four times this season, more than any other team. In those outings he went 1-2 while allowing 19 total runs through 22 2/3 innings of work.
