With Will Venable on paternity leave, Melvin Upton, Jr. will get the start in center today. The Padres also called up outfielder Alex Dickerson (POWAY NATIVE WHAT UP) this morning from Triple-A El Paso.

Brett Wallace is getting the start at first base today to give Yonder Alonso some rest, but also because he hits p well in Milwaukee.

Brett Wallace said Miller Park is one of his favorite ballparks to hit in. He's in the lineup (1B). He's a career .313/.377/.625 hitter here
