Since Ian Kennedy is starting tonight for the Padres as they begin a three-game series with San Francisco, I thought I'd see how the visiting Giants' batters have done against him in the past.
Joaquin Arias: 0-4, K
Brandon Belt: 10-31 (.323), 2 2B, 3B, 2 HR, 4 RBI, 3 BB, 12 K
Gregor Blanco: 7-29 (.241), 3B, 2 RBI, 4 BB, 3 K
Brandon Crawford: 8-39 (.205), 3 2B, 3B, 3 RBI, 2 BB, 10 K
Matt Duffy: 2-5 (.400), BB
Tim Hudson: 0-4, K
Justin Maxwell: 0-4, K
Angel Pagan: 6-35 (.171), 2B, RBI, 2 BB, 5 K
Joe Panik: 1-14 (.071), RBI, BB, K
Hunter Pence: 6-26 (.231), 2B, 3 RBI, 3 BB, 9 K
Buster Posey: 16-40 (.400), 3 2B, HR, 7 RBI, 4 BB, 5 K
Hector Sanchez: 0-6, RBI, 2 K
Outside of Belt and Posey, who have raked in fairly decent sample sizes, Kennedy has held them in check for the most part. All told, Giants batters are 56-237 (.236) with 10 doubles, three triples, three homers, and 22 RBI. They have walked 20 times and racked up 50 strikeouts.
