I watched the pre-game show of the All-Star Game for about 45 minutes. The start of the game was still no where in sight so I left to run some errands. I came back in the 6th inning. Moments later Jonny Dub texted me asking if I wanted to go down to Petco Park to watch the game on the new HD screen. "That's a member's only Padres ticket holder event" I said. Jon didn't seem too concerned about that. Moments later he sped up to my block to pick me up.
We parked across the street from the ballpark and just walked right in. Membership has its privileges. We planted ourselves in right field and watched the final two innings. Apparently we'd missed Justin Upton's single during our drive, so I had to see the video on my phone, a slight difference in size to HD scoreboard. This was the first time a Padre had played in a game since Heath Bell embarrassed us by sliding into the pitcher's mound in 2011. It was the first hit by a Padre since Adrian Gonzalez in 2008.
We were only there for about 45 minutes but it was a good time nonetheless. I feel a little bit bad about sneaking into the park, but also not really.
