After getting swept in Pittsburgh to extend their losing streak to five games, the Padres hope to have better luck in Arlington, where tonight they'll open up an interleague series against the Rangers that will take them into the All-Star Break.

Coming off an off day yesterday, San Diego will look to Ian Kennedy in the series opener.  Kennedy is seeking his fifth win of the season after going 4-8 with a 4.84 ERA in his first 15 starts. The right-hander has had only one career outing against Texas, and it didn't go too well. As a member of the Diamondbacks back in 2012, Kennedy threw 5 2/3 innings against the Rangers, giving up six earned runs on ten hits and a walk.

Rangers starter Wandy Rodriguez has more experience against the Padres, facing them eight times (seven as a starter) in his career. In those eight outings, he is 3-3 with a 5.53 ERA. Rodriguez is 5-4 with a 4.23 ERA in 2015, but has yet to notch a win at home. At the Rangers' Globe Life Park, this season, the southpaw is 0-4 with a 7.42 ERA, hopefully something the Padres can count on tonight to help them end their five-game skid and start the series on a winning note.
