Game 78 Preview: 06/28 Padres vs. Diamondbacks

The Padres clinched the series win last night and go for the sweepnthis afternoon at Petco Park. Odrisamer Despaigne gets the start for San Diego, marking his third time facing Arizona this season. He went 1-1 in his first two tries, but the most recent of those was one of his worst outings this year. He gave up eight runs - all earned - in only five innings of work. Two of the ten hits he allowed that start were home runs.

Chase Anderson is coming off his worst outing of the season. Against the Rockies last Tuesday, he was tagged for eight runs on eight hits (including three homers) through 4 2/3 innings of work, earning just his second loss of the season. He also faced the Padres twice previously this year. He allowed three earned runs in a combined 13 innings over those first two meetings, but didn't get the decision either time.
