It was bound to happen sometime. I knew that I would soon have to write up a post looking for an MVP of a losing series. Cory Spangenberg was the series MVP for the Atlanta series with 46% of the vote. This week, things look a bit different.

So, who was the most valuable player in this series?
Was it one of the batters who had a positive impact on the series until the bullpen fell flat and allowed the possible wins to escape the grasp of the Padres? Will Venable had a productive game 2 and 3 scoring two crucial runs. Justin Upton had a huge game 2 with his game winning home run in the 8th inning as well as an RBI single that had the Padres leading for much of the series finale. Alexi Amarista also had a productive game 2 and 3 for the Padres.
Do one of the starting pitchers capture the MVP award for their impressive showings in each of the 3 games.
Does it go to Odrisamer Despaigne and his outing in game 1? What about Ian Kennedy in what may have been his best outing of 2015 with 7 strong innings allowing only 4 hits and 1 ER while recording 4 strikeouts. Does James Shields win the MVP for 7 strong innings in the series finale?
The choice is yours. Vote for who you feel should be this series' MVP.
And I should also let you know that the next series MVP will be determined over the upcoming 4 games against Oakland that will consist of 2 home games and 2 away games.
