Game 64 Preview: 06/13 Padres vs. Dodgers

The Padres will try to even up the series tonight after one of their most disappointing losses of the season. Ian Kennedy makes his 11th appearance, and third against L.A. this year.  He gave up eight earned runs in 4 1/3 innings the last time the Dodgers came to Petco Park back in April.  He had a much better outing against them at Dodger Stadium last month, when he threw six innings of two-run ball. Career-wise, Kennedy is 5-9 with a 4.50 ERA against L.A.  Kennedy will try to improve on a less-than-stellar season in which he's gone 3-5 with a 6.48 ERA. His latest appearance saw him go five innings and give up three runs on eight hits against the Braves.

On the hill for the Dodgers tonight will be Zack Greinke, who hopes to lead his team to a series-clinching victory. Greinke has already experienced a lot of success this season, going 5-1 with a 1.92 ERA.  But it's been over a month since his last win - a trend he hopes will end with a strong start against the Padres tonight.  Greinke is undefeated (5-0) all-time against San Diego. That includes a 1-0 record in three starts against them already this year. He went 20 2/3 combined innings in those three starts while allowing just two runs and striking out 16 batters.
