Game 62 Preview: 06/11 Padres @ Braves

The Padres and Braves wrap up their four-game set at Turner Field.

Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

After winning the series opener, the Padres dropped the next two against the Braves.  Today, they'll try to salvage a series split before heading back home to San Diego.

Pitching in the finale for the Padres will be Andrew Cashner, who continues his quest for that elusive third win while trying to avoid being the first pitcher to reach nine losses this season.  He had some trouble his last time out, giving up seven earned runs on eight hits and five walks through 5 2/3 innings.  One start prior to that he pitched his shortest outing of the season, going just 4 2/3 innings and allowing six runs (five earned) on 11 hits, though he didn't walk a batter and he struck out 12 in that game.  Cashner has faced the Braves only twice in his career, once as a starter, and never at Turner Field. He kept them to two runs on six hits to earn the win in that start.

Julio Teheran will be going for the Braves, looking to lead them to a series win.  Teheran has had his share of struggles lately, posting a 7.64 ERA while going 0-1 over his last three starts.  His most recent outing, however, was his longest of the year - 7 1/3 innings.  In three career starts against the Padres, Teheran is 1-2 with a 5.79 ERA.
