The Padres are still looking to fill the role of shortstop for the team. Padres GM A.J. Preller picked up Clint Barmes early in the offseason to supplement utility player Alexi Amarista in the middle infield. Not many critics liked the acquisition. With the rest of the team upgraded, Preller has nothing better to do then put all his intense focus on that one position. If you're another team's GM right now, be careful, but also don't for our sake.
Bob Nightengale from USA Today has the news that Preller is scouring the market according to other teams.
The #Padres and aggressive A.J Preller still aren't done dealing. They are now scouring the shortstop market, teams say.
