It's Jackie Robinson Day and a series win is on the line tonight as the Padres and Diamondbacks play the rubber game of a three-game set at Petco Park.
On the mound for San Diego will be Brandon Morrow, making his second start for the team. Morrow's 2015 debut was a successful one - he kept the Giants scoreless for seven innings, allowing only four hits and three walks while striking out seven batters en route to the Padres' first home win of the season. In his seven-year career in the majors, Morrow has only faced the Diamondbacks once, and it didn't go so well. He lasted only four innings, allowing six earned runs on eight hits and a walk, but still collecting five strikeouts along the way.
Opposing Morrow and the Friars will be right-hander Chase Anderson, pitching in just his second major league season. In three total appearances (all starts) against San Diego, Anderson is 2-1 with a 4.20 ERA, having allowed 11 runs (seven earned) through 15 total innings of work. This, however, will be Anderson's first experience pitching at Petco Park.
It's a weird, early night game start time of 6:10 pm PT this evening, so make sure to tune in on time and join us in the game thread!
