Following another solid win, the Padres are back home tonight to host the Royals at Peoria Sports Complex.
Ian Kennedy dominated in his final Spring outing yesterday, throwing six innings of shutout ball, allowing six hits and a walk while striking out seven.
Tonight Brandon Morrow gets the ball against Kansas City. He'll be making his first appearance for the Padres since aggravating a blister on his throwing hand on March 21st. Morrow is still trying to make his case for the team's fifth starting job, with his biggest contender being Odrisamer Despaigne. However many believe Morrow to have the slight edge over Despaigne.
Going for the Royals will be righty Jeremy Guthrie, who's also expected to be his club's fifth starter going into the season. Guthrie has pitched 7 2/3 innings this Spring, allowing three earned runs on six hits and no walks while striking out three batters.
