Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Wil Myers and Matt Kemp both homered while Andrew Cashner put up a strong performance in the Padres8-5 winover the Mariners yesterday afternoon.

Today, it'll be Ian Kennedy making the start on the mound for the Friars as they hit the road to Goodyear to take on the Reds at 1:05 pm PT. This will be Kennedy's last appearance before the regular season, when he's expected to take up the 4th starting spot in the rotation. His most recent Cactus League start was ten days ago, on March 20th.  He gave up just one run, unearned, in four innings of work against the Royals. He also pitched four innings of a minor league intrasquad game last Wednesday.

The Reds are coming off an 8-6 win over the Angels yesterday in a game dominated by their non-roster invitees. This afternoon they plan on sending most of their starters out to face Kennedy and the Padres. They'll give the ball to Anthony Desclafani, who was nails in his most recent appearance. He threw six shutout frames against the Rangers last Wednesday and racked up nine strikeouts along the way.
