A day after the Padres faced off against his former team, James Shields will take the mound in his second appearance for San Diego. But there's a bigger story brewing in tonight's contest against the Dodgers. You'll be seeing a familiar face on your TV/computer/device screens this evening. One with past ties to San Diego. That's right, former Padres broadcaster Matt Vasgersian makes his return to the booth to call tonight's game with his old partner, Mark Grant. It'll be a treat to hear these two team up again after all these years.
Oh yeah, and Will Ferrell will suit up for both the Dodgers and the Padres, as well as take on the role of umpire, in tonight's game. As a result I am hereby announcing that any Anchorman references will be considered trolling and the punishment for any comments containing these references will be a one-day ban from Gaslamp Ball. I am so serious. I guarantee any joke you want to make has already been made at some point, probably on several occasions, and was probably met with the greatest of eye rolls. Please don't make me use my banhammer tonight. Let's just have a good time.
With that said, check out the starting lineups for tonight!
