Yesterday the online gambling organization, Bovada, emailed me their over/under win totals for each of the MLB teams. A peek at the Vegas odds has the Padres in 7th place with a win total of 85.5. If I were a betting man my pessimism would probably have me picking the under. In my head I've got the Padres likely finishing at 85. If a few things go right and if I rub enough rabbit feet I'm thinking they top out at 89. That's my preseason prediction.
Dennis Lin of the U-T picked the under too.

This blog, if it were a person and could wager, would take the under on the Padres. This isn't the first time a team has added heaps of talent in a single offseason. There's a decent chance things go horribly awry. The 2013 Blue Jays and 2012 Marlins can attest to that.
Lin also found out how the Padres fared against the odds in the past 6 years.
2009: 70.5 (75-87) 2010: 71.5 (90-72) 2011: 75.5 (71-91) 2012: 73.5 (76-86) 2013: 74.5 (76-86) 2014: 78.5 (77-85) With all that information at your disposal, do you take the over or the under? VOTE IN THE POLL!
