Austin Hedges and Travis Jankowski Are The Final Series MVPs of 2015

They had home runs.

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

Season is over.

The final series went the exact opposite way that it should have.

A complete 180 from what I wanted.

I wanted to have a nice batch of wins for the Padres to end the season.

A sweep of the team headed to the playoffs to put some doubt in the minds of their fans.

Doubt in the minds of their players.

But, it was not to be.

Not today.

Not this weekend.

Not this season.

So, I'm naming the Series MVPs for the final series of 2015.

If you read the title, you know the names already.

So, why them?

They had home runs.

Homers are nice.

You get to touch all the bases.

Score a run that includes you.

That's better than someone else getting you home.

You had your own ride,

Brought yourself home without anyone's help.

In a series with 3 losses followed by the firing of the manager, that's good enough.

So, congrats Austin Hedges and Travis Jankowski.

You had your own ride and you get honored for it.

Repeat next year.

If you want.

Up to you.

Go, you!
