Padres have been shutout 19 times this season

Denis Poroy/Getty Images

The Padres were once on pace to set a new record for the number of times they were shutout this season.  They can still do it but it will mean they'll have to be shutout in their four remaining games.  All it would take would be for the Padres offense to mail in just a few more games and they could own the franchise record.  We may be watching history folks.

This is a job for the Gaslamp Ballmanac.  See the table below for the shutout totals for each Padres season.  Currently the 2015 team is tied with 2014, 2011 and 1973 teams with 19 shutouts on the season.  I'm still impressed by the 2004 team avoiding all but three shutouts.  It feels good to say something nice about that team.
