Trevor Hoffman to be inducted in Padres HoF on August 30th
First and foremost, it's been officially announced that the Padres legendary closer, Trevor Hoffman, will be inducted into the Padres Hall of Fame on August 30th. This is a no-brainer, but for some reason it took forever for the Padres to remember they have a Hall of Fame. Sportswriter Tom Krasovic, who is on the Padres HoF committee made the announcement via his Twitter account last week but the date was announced today.
"I'm thrilled to be inducted into the Padres Hall of Fame," said Hoffman. "To be able to join a group of people whose contributions have not only shaped our organization, but also strengthened the game of baseball, is an honor."
Fox Sports SD ratings continue to climb
Saturday's game against the Braves averaged a 5.4 rating, their highest rated game EVER! It overtook a game from last August against the Yankees that held a 5.2 rating. For those of you doing the calculations at home, that's an average of 58,000 households. Furthermore the series became the highest rated series in FSSD's short history averaging a 5.0 rating.
Overall, ratings for Padres telecasts on FOX Sports San Diego are averaging 16% higher this season than last. Post All-Star break ratings are also up an average of 35% over last season.
Mark Kotsay has joined Twitter
The former Padre and current broadcaster finally bowed to public demand and joined Twitter. I hope he's good at it. I hope he talks to us, answers questions and takes selfies.
Fox Sports Girls are TV stars
Remember the good old days when the FSSD Girls would come visit you in your seats? Those days are apparently long gone. Now they hang out with the fat cats in suites and do TV shows. It's just not the same.
