Diamondbacks 2, Padres 0: Great Pitching, No Hits

The offense struggled to support a great start yet again.

Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

Well, there's not a whole lot you can say about a game like this. Diamondbacks starter Bronson Arroyo started the day with an ERA of 7.77. That should mean an easy win, especially with Andrew Cashner on the mound for the Padres. And yet the sum total of the offense were three singles by Jedd Gyorko, Yonder Alonso, and Nick Hundley, with a walk drawn by Alexi Amarista thrown in for good measure. And that's how Andrew Cashner gets the loss on another great start. If you're looking for some upside tonight, Tim Stauffer tossed two fantastic innings while sporting an incredibly sexy beard. And then there was this brilliant play where Everth Cabrera robbed Ender Inciarte from picking up his first big league hit.

Ian Kennedy takes the mound tomorrow against Twitter funnyman Brandon McCarthy at 5:40 PM. It's beach towel night, so expect traffic if you're heading down to the game.

recorddigger had the most comments tonight. I think Jodes led the recs, but I can't say for sure because it's late and I'm not doing math.
