#Padres pitcher Josh Johnson will have TJ surgery tomorrow. Technically a revision of the UCL.

In March, Josh Johnson had a drop in velocity during the 5th inning of his last Spring Training start and had swelling in his forearm and elbow afterwards. In the days following, his condition was thought to be improving, GM Josh Byrnes was encouraged by his recovery. However last week it was revealed that his condition had not continued to improve. Johnson and the team decided he would be reevaluated by his doctor.
Since Josh Johnson obviously won't post at least 7 starts, the Padres wil have an option to sign him for next season for $4 million.
To be clear, Josh Johnson's $4m option for 2015 doesn't simply kick in. The team can still decline that. #Padres

Assistant GM A.J. Hinch says the Padres are still uncertain if they'll exercise the option on Johnson.

"We still have a lot of hurdles to clear before we make a decision on that," Hinch said.
