No, you're not reading a repost from three months ago. We're talking about Rob Johnson, not Josh Johnson. The former Padre has been signed to a minor league deal, per Corey Brock.
Confirming @MattEddyBA report; former #Padres C Rob Johnson (2011) has signed a Minor League with the team as a RHP. Reports 2/28.

And I know what you're thinking, because I had the exact same thought on reading the news. "But Rob Johnson is a catcher!" Well, it turns out he was a catcher. He's seen less and less time behind the plate in the big leagues since his days in San Diego (presumably because he can't hit and can't catch), so he's added some pitching to his repertoire. He pitched one inning for the Mets in 2012 and a third of an inning for the Cardinals last year. He even threw a bullpen session for the Padres in 2011.
Johnson threw a bullpen for #Padres FO + coaching staff while still a catcher in 2011. Pitched for #Mets and #STLCards (2012-13).

His career major league ERA is a sterling 0.00. Barring an act of serious desperation by the Padres, it should stay that way.
