Ken Rosenthal is reporting the details of a three-way deal that will bring OF Wil Myers, C Ryan Hanigan, LHP Jose Castillo and RHP Gerardo Reyes to San Diego. The Padres will give up C Rene Rivera to the Rays and RHP Joe Ross and SS Trea Turner (PTBNL) to the Nationals. Jim Bowden is reporting that the deal is done, pending a physical.
I like what GM AJ. Preller has done so far. He saw that catchers were in demand this off-season and traded both of his away in order to get maximum return. There's no doubt that he gave up value in Rivera, Turner and Smith, but when you have a chance to throw the dice on a possible impact player like Myers you take it. Also to his credit he was able to hold onto his pitching staff and prospects Austin Hedges, Matt Wisler and Hunter Renfroe which will hopefully pay its dividends in the future.
Details are still coming in...
Turner, Joe Ross to #Nationals. Myers, Hanigan, Jose Castillo to #Padres. Souza, Ott, Rivera, Smith, Bauers to #Rays (Souza, Ott from Nats).

The entirety of the Wil Myers trade, which is agreed upon, hinges on his wrist. If he's healthy, Padres did great buy-low. If not, trouble.
