You'll notice that the account from which this information was tweeted isn't the "official"/verified Tony Gwynn, Jr. Twitter account, but it was retweeted by the verified account, so I think we can assume it's legit. If that's the case, this is some incredibly exciting news for kids in San Diego and should make for a very happy holiday season. I can't wait to see what's being planned for the camp and I hope the cutoff age is over 25 so I can join in all the fun.
I think it's also safe to assume that TG Jr. will be involved in some way at the baseball camp. I love seeing him being so active around San Diego this offseason, and it makes me wish the Padres would sign him just so we could continue seeing him around all year, keeping his dad's memory alive through his work in the community.
Speaking of Tony Gwynn's impact in San Diego, don't forget to send your stories and memories to Tami Belmain (gwynnstory@gmail.com) for the upcoming book chronicling Mr. Padre's history and legacy in SD.
