I'm just itching for the Padres to start making some off-season moves. I want to see some high turnover after the lackluster results of last season. I can't wait to see what new GM A.J. Preller has in store for us. There's been rumors that the Padres are at least in the market for some free agents like Adam LaRoche and Pablo Sandoval but it sounds like Sandoval will be offered a contract soon from the Red Sox. Fortunately we'll see some roster movement soon as Padres' beat writer Corey Brock is telling us we can expect some minor changes starting tomorrow. I'll take it and then I'll want more.
Don't be at all surprised if you see some #Padres roster movement, even small deals, before tomorrow's deadline to set Rule 5 roster.— Corey Brock (@FollowThePadres) November 20, 2014
Chances are good the Padres will need to make room for three players -- outfielder Alex Dickerson and pitchers Justin Hancock and Tayron Guerrero.
Players who are likely on the 40-man bubble include infielders Gabriel Quintana and Taylor Lindsey, and pitchers John Barbato, James Needy, Adys Portillo, Chris Rearick, Jerry Sullivan and Luis De La Cruz.
This is all very exciting and a little bit scary.
