The Pirates 25-man roster includes two former Padres and one pitcher who was a member of the El Paso Chihuahuas as recently as August 18, while the Giants' roster has just one player with Padres ties. Not that any of that matters, of course. They're the Giants, and I don't need any more reasons to want the Giants to lose.

One of those former Friars on the Pittsburgh roster is starting pitcher Edinson Volquez, who had a career resurgence this year after serving two years as migraine fuel in San Diego. The other ex-Padre on the Pirates is backup backstop Chris Stewart, who played one inning at catcher and one inning at first base with San Diego in 2010, never coming to the plate. The other Bucco who was once part of the Padres organization is reliever Bobby LaFromboise, who appeared in 58 games with El Paso before the Pirates picked him up off waivers in late August.
The game will be aired on ESPN; first pitch is scheduled for 5:07pm your time, 8:07pm Pittsburgh time.
Go Pirates! Beat the Giants!
