2013 Padres Pre-Season Predictions pretty pathetic

Clive Rose

On March 31st I asked you to look into the future and predict the answers to 5 questions. I told you a day of reckoning would come. Today is that day.

Here are those five questions and their answers:

What will be the 2013 Padres' record? 76-86

76 - 86

16

Lost 1

6

Thirty-eight of you (23%) voted that the Padres win total would be between 76-80. That was the second highest vote total to those 56 (34%) of you who voted 81-86.

Gaslamp Ballers Ualtar and Zach (maestro876) predicted the record correctly in the comments, proving at least rudimentary psychic ability.

What place will they finish in the NL West? Third (tie)

Because Huston Street couldn't close out yesterday's game the Padres finished the season tied with the San Francisco Giants.

NL West Standings

W L PCT GB STRK
Los Angeles 92 70 .567 0 Lost 2
Arizona 81 81 .500 11 Won 1
San Diego 76 86 .469 16 Lost 1
San Francisco 76 86 .469 16 Won 1
Colorado 74 88 .456 18 Won 2

Gaslamp Ballers Ualtar, acolaizzi, Darklighter, EnglishChris, Timmah73, bringbackbuddytrees, Conor42 ,Sam (sdsuaztec4) ,kevintheoman , field39 and Bigworm8 all predicted correctly.

Who will win the NL West? Dodgers

After being mocked for their high payroll and win total in the first half of the season the Dodgers smoked the rest of the NL West in the second half finishing 11 games ahead of the nearest competitor.

Gaslamp Ballers SolanaFan, SDCole24, StrangeBroP25, gwynnfan11, jbox , The AZ Lurker, EvilSammy, volleyballgy and A huevo, all predicted correctly.

Which Padre player will be traded before the end of the season? Joe Thatcher

Correct me if I'm wrong but only Joe Thatcher was traded this season, right? If that's the case then only two of you guessed correctly, but both named other players that were not traded as well.

Gaslamp Ballers BeantownComPadre and bringbackbuddytrees named Thatcher.

Who will be the Padres All-Star(s) ? Everth Cabrera

Only one among you picked Everth Cabrera to be the lone All-Star representative for the Padres.

Gaslamp Baller A huevo was that person.
