Nobody has talked about the Dodgers in decades, but now that they've finally put 65 decent games together they're the talk of Twitter.  I love a good underdog story.

A problem arose yesterday though when Yasiel Puig exited the game with a knee strain.  The number of fresh animated gifs to be used for blogger masturbatory purposes plunged.  Fortunately ESPN dug up this statistic, it's like an excerpt from a romance novel if you imagine Tim Kurkjian reading it aloud.

So the Dodgers have won 80% of their last 65 games. The last time someone was able to have sexy thoughts about that statistic was at the end of the last World War.  ESPN fails to mention which team did it back then, but sometimes it's more fun to fantasize about who it could be.

In contrast the Padres have only won 25 of their last 65 games, that's 38%.  Not quite as arousing.

But as long as we're talking about historical figures, let's look the Padres best 65 game stretch for comparison purposes. It came in 1998 when the team won 45 out of 65 games.  Forty-five isn't so far away from 52 and it's just shy of 70%.
