Padres finish up with the Cardinals this morning. And don't look now, they might even win a series.
I tell you what, I totally forgot about baseball. For whatever reason when the All Star break came around I sort of just forgot about baseball, like "I guess that's it, the season is over". I even watched some of the All Star game, but never realized baseball started back up again until last night. I guess that what happens when you lose 90% of your games.
St. Louis is a great baseball town. I know everyone says that, but it's true. They know the game and the fans don't give opposing fans any crap just because they don't root for the Cardinals. Dex and I (You remember Dex, right?) were in St. Louis a few years ago and took in a game. It was a crazy hot July afternoon, just like today. Everybody had been drinking and the game was about to start. Dex and I passed the Ozzie Smith statue on our way in. I threw my Padre cap on the Ozzie statue and we took a few photos. Any other city and Dex and I would not be here today. But those Cardinal fans were cool, knowing the Wizard played for our team.
Anyway go Padres!
