Game(s) Thread: 07/18 Minor League Affiliates

It's the final day of the MLB All Star Break, so let's spend it game-threading the games of all five Padres affiliates.

Doug Pensinger

Class A: Fort Wayne TinCaps

Last night the TinCaps wasted a great pitching performance from Zach Eflin because the defense was unable to keep it together. They'll look to redeem themselves behind tonight's starter, Max Fried, as they continue their series against the Quad Cities River Bandits (Astros affiliate). Fried is 3-4 on the season with a 3.93 ERA in 15 starts. He was roughed up in his most recent start, giving up five runs (four earned) in 3 2/3 innings of work. You can listen to this matchup at 4:05pm at thefanfortwayne.com.

Double-A: San Antonio Missions

The Missions are coming off a four-game series split against the Frisco RoughRiders (Rangers affiliate). They've won 13 of their last 17 games and will return home tonight to face the Athletics affiliate, the Midland RockHounds. The two teams just played each other July 10th-13th, with San Antonio taking three of the four games. Eddie Bonine will take the hill for the Missions tonight, seeking his first win of the season. After posting a 9.82 ERA in four starts for the Triple-A Tucson Padres, Bonine was sent down to San Antonio where he's gone 0-1 with a 5.71 ERA in his three starts so far. This game is set for 5:05pm and you can listen live at samissions.com.

Class A Short Season: Eugene Emeralds

The Ems will try to snap a four-game losing streak as they open up a series in Vancouver, where they will face Blue Jays affiliate, the Canadians. The five-game set against the Canadians will close out the first half of play in the North West League's 2013 season. Game time is at 7:05pm and you can listen for free at eugeneemeralds.com or on the free Eugene Emeralds app.

Class A Advanced: Lake Elsinore Storm

The Storm won their fourth straight game last night as they opened up a series on the road against Mariners affiliate, the High Desert Mavericks. They'll continue the series tonight with Trevor Holder making the start against the Mavericks. He is 2-5 with a 5.16 ERA in twelve starts this season and he's winless (0-3) in his last five. Listen live at 7:05pm at stormbaseball.com.

Triple-A: Tucson Padres

The Triple-A club is coming off its All Star Break. Our old friend Tyson Ross takes the mound for the first place Padres against the Rockies affiliate, the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. Ross made his first start for the TuPads last Friday and threw five shutout innings of three-hit ball to earn the win. Prior to that, he had struggled out of the bullpen, giving up a combined four runs, all earned, in 2 2/3 innings of relief back in April and May. Game time in Tucson is 7:05pm and you can listen live at tucsonpadres.com.
