The last time the Padres traveled to AT&T Park to play the Giants, they were swept by the reigning world champs. But they come into this series having swept back-to-back series against two first-place teams. Let's hope Volquez can give us another solid outing and our Padres can continue to stick it in the faces of all the doubters. Everth Cabrera's absence be damned!
GO FRIARS!! KEEP THE FAITH!! SLAY THE GIANTS!!
Padres winning percentage on June 17th, via Gaslamp Ballmanac:
Lineups: As mentioned before, Cabrera will be absent from tonight's lineup and new guy Pedro Ciriaco will make the start at short. Carlos Quentin will also sit out the opener against the Giants. Buster Posey is out of the starting lineup for San Francisco and if you look on Twitter you can see all the Giants fans b_tching about the lineup like Padres fans used to. It's a little refreshing, not gonna lie.
