I'm just getting around to watching Annie Heilbrunn's interview with Yasmani Grandal. It seems pretty clear to me that he knows the Padres, especially Nick Hundley, aren't as excited as he is to return to field.
Here's my notes:
- Yasmani Grandal hopes that his return to the big leagues will be seamless. "I'm not expecting anybody to welcome me with open arms." He said he's going to have to work on some relationships and hopes that his teammates can eventually forget about his PED use.
- He's only talked to a few of the Padres players. He doesn't like to bother guys in the season, just like he doesn't like to be bothered.
- He doesn't like to think or talk about his PED use or suspension. It's something that he has put behind him.
- Grandal is super excited about returning to the big league club.
