So here we are 50 games into the season. Six games under .500. Seven games behind the Diamondbacks. A half a game ahead of the Dodgers and the NL west cellar.

The Padres have cooled off considerably in the past couple of weeks. Since May 10th the Padres have lost 4 out of 5 series. The only series they've won was against the Orioles and it was just a two game set.

In the overall scheme of things, the Padres are middle-ish when compared to Padres teams of bygone eras. They're currently tied with the 1977 and 2000 team with their 22 wins. The 1977 team went on to win 69 games. The 2000 team finished with 76.
