The Padres scored a billion runs off the Cubs tonight. It's what happens when everybody in the starting lineup gets a hit, including the pitcher. Yonder Alonso, Carlos Quentin, and Nick Hundley led the way with a trio of home runs. They were also three of five Padres with a multi-hit night. It wasn't all rainbows and sunshine, though: Robbie Erlin finally made his major league debut in the 9th only to get roughed up by ex-Padres Cody Ransom and Anthony Rizzo. Ransom hit a solo home run to left field, continuing his sudden display of competency, and Rizzo hit an RBI double to right. Of course, it didn't really matter because the Padres had already scored a billion runs in their best ever performance at Wrigley Field.
Andrew Cashner takes on Anthony Rizzo Scott Feldman at 5:05 tomorrow.
