Cubs 5, Padres 3: Cubs break Padres winning streak

USA TODAY Sports

I feel like I haven't done a game recap in forever. I only saw the middle innings of this one, so we'll learn what happened together.

1st Inning

Jeff Samardzija started this game for the Cubbies with a walk to Everth Cabrera. Chase Headley continued his hot streak with a single. That's when Samarzija threw 2 wild pitches to the next to batters. One moving Cabrera to third and the next to home. Boom, early lead.

1-0 Padres

2nd Inning

This is about the time I tuned in. Right when two former Padres Scott Hairston and Cody Ransom homered back to back off Clayton Richard. What a bitter pill to swallow.

2-1 Cubs

4th Inning

I think i tuned out again in the 4th because I don't remember Darwin Barney doubling to center field to score Welington Castillo.

3-1 Cubs

5th Inning

Okay I definitely didn't see the 5th inning because that's when the Padres came back. Everth Cabrera singled on a deflected ball of the pitcher. Then Chris Denorfia walked. Chase Headley struck out. Carlos Quentin picked up the slack and walked the bases loaded. Alonso singled to score two Padres.

3-3

6th inning

Of course Cody Ransom singled to Alfonso Soriano. Of course he did. Then he and his buddy scored on a Darwin Barney double. Of course they did.

5-3 Cubs

I'm guessing a bunch of interesting stuff happened after that but that's where the scoring ended, so that's where this recap ends.
