Game 11 Preview: Padres vs. Rockies

Edinson Volquez will pitch opposite Jhoulys Chacin in game 2 against the Rockies at Petco Park.

The Padres are still looking for their first victory over the Rockies this season and hope that Edinson Volquez can help them to it in a rematch of Sunday's series finale in Colorado. Volquez gave up three runs in the first inning that last appearance, but settled down and kept the Rockies to just a run over the next five innings. This will be his ninth career start against Colorado. He is 3-4 with a 4.81 ERA through the first eight and he'll try to improve on that record tonight.

Just like Sunday's matchup, Volquez will be pitching opposite Jhoulys Chacin. He picked up the win to complete the sweep at Coors Field in that game by throwing 6 2/3 innings and giving up only one run (on a Chris Denorfia RBI double). He struck out two and issued no walks in the outing. Over his first two starts this season, he has posted a 1.35 ERA.
