Spring Training Game Thread: 03/09 Padres vs. Rangers

Denis Poroy

Our Padres are in the middle of playing a B game right now. Follow @heyscan on twitter for updates.

After having the game cut short due to rain at Camelback Ranch yesterday, our Padres return to Peoria to face Texas this afternoon. Eric Stults will get his third Spring start, and second against the Rangers. He pitched three innings his last time out, but gave up two runs in the 1st and failed to record a strikeout. So far this Spring, Stults has been anything but impressive. In his first two starts combined, he's surrendered six earned runs on six hits and three walks over four innings of work.

After Stults' scheduled three innings, Anthony Bass will take over for two. Huston Street, Brad Brach, Joe Thatcher, and Miles Mikolas will pitch an inning each.

The Rangers, who have a split-squad doubleheader today, will send Matt Harrison to the mound in Peoria. He tossed three shutout frames against the Diamondbacks in his last outing a week ago. He allowed only three singles through his three innings, bouncing back from a poor Spring debut the week before.

You can catch the action today on The Mighty 1090 at 12:05pm.

GO FRIARS!! KEEP THE FAITH!!
