There's a 70% chance of rain and thunder throughout the Spring Training facilities in Arizona today. But the scheduled matchup out at Camelback Ranch pits our Padres against the White Sox in a rematch of last Sunday's game, which featured past and present Padres aces Jake Peavy and Clayton Richard. Richard made his Spring debut in that Sunday game and tossed two shutout innings. He held the White Sox hitless and only allowed two baserunners, both on walks.
Carlos Quentin will make his own Spring debut, batting cleanup as a designated hitter. He underwent knee surgery in the offseason and has been working to get back into shape , so we'll get our first look at his progress today.
#Padres lineup at #WhiteSox: Amarista 8, Gyorko 4, Kotsay 9, Quentin 0, Alonso 3, Blanks 7, Ransom 6, Baker 2, Petit 5. Richard starts.

Peavy will try to rebound from his last performance. He surrendered three runs on five hits and a walk in his three innings of work on Sunday. San Diego State alum Addison Reed is also scheduled to see some time on the mound. He made his Spring debut on Monday against the Giants, recording one strikeout while tossing a perfect sixth inning for Chicago.
UPDATE: Peavy is a weenie and won't have to suffer domination by his old team again today.
Jake Peavy isn't going to face the #Padres today because the game is threatened by rain. Will pitch on the side instead. #WhiteSox

Padres.com will have a free live audio webcast of today's game, but it looks like WhiteSox.com will have free video. Weather permitting, first pitch will be at 12:05pm.
GO FRIARS!! KEEP THE FAITH!!
