Fresh off their first off day of the Spring, our Padres get set to face the Angels today at Peoria Sports Complex. Freddy Garcia will get the start, pitching three scheduled innings. He'll try to bounce back from his last outing, when he gave up three runs in 2 2/3 innings and failed to escape the 3rd inning against the Dodgers. Prior to that, he was tagged for five runs (four earned) in just one inning when he made his Cactus League debut against the Mariners. That rotation spot isn't looking likely for him thus far, so he'll need to have a decent outing here to keep him in the running. Hopefully, unlike his start against L.A., he won't need Casey Kelly to bail him out. Kelly will pitch the 4th and 5th innings today. He's given up four runs in four innings so far this Spring, but his last outing was an encouraging one.
#Padres lineup today vs. #Angels: Cabrera 6, Venable 9, Headley 5, Guzman 7, Alonso 3, Maybin 8, Hundley 2, Forsythe 4, Garcia 1.

The Angels counter with C.J. Wilson. Coming off an offseason in which he underwent surgery on his left elbow, Wilson is anxious to get back to form on the mound. This will be just his second start of Spring Training, and he hopes it'll go smoother than his last, when he served up two runs on four hits in 1 2/3 innings against the Brewers.
Today's Angel lineup: Trout LF, Callaspo 3B, Kendrick 2B, Trumbo 1B, Wells RF, Iannetta C, Bourjos CF, Jimenez DH, Romine SS, Wilson P.
