Our Padres are back home today and will take on the Dodgers for the second time this Spring. Jason Marquis will take the mound and try to build off his Spring debut last Thursday when he pitched two shutout innings against the Royals. In that outing, we got our first look at Marquis' changeup, which he has been working on this Spring to try to add to his repertoire. We should expect to see more of that today against Los Angeles.
Tyson Ross is scheduled to work three innings in relief of Marquis. So far this Spring, he has given up five earned runs in five innings pitched, so he'll try to work on getting that ERA down.
We've got my personal favorite top-of-the-order in the lineup today with Everth Cabrera leading off, Will Venable hitting 2nd, and Chase Headley in the three-hole.
#Padres lineup vs. #Dodgers: Cabrera 6, Venable 9, Headley 5, Alonso 3, Gyorko 4, Maybin 8, Blanks 7, Hundley 2, Marquis 1.

Meanwhile, Clayton Kershaw will get the start for the Dodgers with Ted Lilly also scheduled for three innings of work. Matt Kemp, who spent the offseason recovering from shoulder surgery and made his Spring debut as a designated hitter in LA's last game against San Diego, will make his first defensive appearance today as he makes the start in center.
Today's lineup: Gordon 6, Schumaker 7, Kemp 8, Ethier 9, M. Ellis 4, A. Ellis 2, Moore DH, Uribe 3, Barden 5, Kershaw 1.
