Freddy Garcia will take the mound against the Rockies tonight in what might be his final Spring appearance. He is scheduled for five innings of work, wherein he will try to impress and perhaps keep himself in the running for a rotation spot. Although with his 9.77 ERA and 21 hits allowed in 15 2/3 innings this Spring, that is looking less likely as the regular season draws nearer.
Garcia will be going up against Colorado's Jorge De La Rosa. His last three outings have been strong ones and he is boasting a 2.84 ERA this Spring.
Jorge De La Rosa was scratched from Colorado's lineup this afternoon with tightness in his forearm. The Rockies will send Jeff Manship to the mound instead.
