Later tonight, Edinson Volquez will get his third start for the Dominican Republic against the Netherlands in the semifinals of the World Baseball Classic. In his first WBC appearance, he was limited to just 11 pitches because of a rain delay. His second start, against Italy, was a rough one. He walked his first three batters, gave up a sac fly, and then served up a homer to give the Italians an early 4-0 lead. This time out he'll try to lock down the Dutch and keep their bats at bay.
First pitch of this semifinal matchup is set for 6:00pm on MLB Network.
