Jason Marquis will get his third Spring start today and is scheduled for four innings of work. He faced the Dodgers his last time out, giving up just one earned run on four hits and two walks while striking out two batters. Prior to that, he one-hit the Royals in two scoreless innings while making his Spring debut. Today he will face his former Chicago team as he tries to put up another impressive Spring Training start.
We should also expect to see Tim Stauffer pitch two innings. Then Dale Thayer, Tommy Layne, Andrew Cashner (!!!!), and Daniel Stange (if needed) will each pitch one frame. Cashner is making his first Spring Training appearance after the offseason incident that has kept him sidelined. Many expect that his return will add more competition for those fighting for a rotation spot come April.
